Digital Design and Digital Art & Animation students were introduced to the use of AI as a tool for generating creative outcomes. Students began by using their imagination to develop three unique concept combinations of their choice. They then explored the fundamentals of prompt writing, learning what a prompt is and how to refine and improve prompts to achieve more accurate and intentional visual results. Finally, students applied these skills to generate their own artwork using Adobe Firefly.
Learning Objective
Students will be able to apply creative thinking and digital literacy skills to develop effective AI prompts, refine those prompts for clarity and specificity, and generate original visual artwork using Adobe Firefly to communicate intentional creative ideas.
Demonstration Learning
Students will use Adobe Express to complete a creative prompt-building activity. They will begin by using their imagination to write down three creative concept combinations (for example: “futuristic jungle city” or “underwater music festival”). From these, students will select one idea and develop it further.
Students will then create five refined AI prompts based on their chosen concept, focusing on clarity, detail, and descriptive language to guide visual creation. Prompts should be written in Adobe Express and prepared for generating AI-assisted artwork.
