My teaching, advising, and mentoring experience spans secondary education, undergraduate instruction, graduate education, and professional development. Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse learners in digital design, multimedia production, animation, web development, communication design, and educational technology. These experiences have shaped my belief that education should empower students to think critically, apply knowledge in meaningful ways, and develop the skills necessary for lifelong success.

My approach is grounded in the educational philosophies of Paulo Freire and Bloom’s Taxonomy. I view learning as an active and collaborative process in which students engage with ideas, solve authentic problems, and create meaningful work. Rather than focusing solely on content acquisition, I encourage students to analyze, evaluate, and apply knowledge in ways that connect academic learning to professional practice and broader societal contexts.

Across all educational levels, I strive to create inclusive learning environments that challenge students intellectually while providing the support necessary for growth. Whether teaching foundational skills, advising students on academic and career pathways, or mentoring emerging professionals, my goal is to foster confidence, creativity, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning.

CLASSROOM TEACHING
I believe students learn most effectively through active engagement and hands-on experiences. In my courses, I combine academic rigor with project-based learning to help students develop both conceptual understanding and practical skills. Through authentic assignments, collaborative projects, and industry-relevant challenges, students apply classroom knowledge to real-world situations while building professional competencies.

Bloom’s Taxonomy guides the design of my courses by encouraging progression from foundational knowledge to higher-order thinking skills, including analysis, evaluation, and creation. Students are challenged not only to master technical tools but also to think critically about design decisions, communication strategies, and the impact of technology on society.

Because technology and creative industries evolve rapidly, I integrate industry-standard software, emerging technologies, and professional workflows into instruction. This approach helps students develop technical proficiency while cultivating adaptability, problem-solving abilities, and creative confidence.

Effective advising goes beyond course selection and degree planning. I view advising as a collaborative partnership that supports students’ academic success, personal growth, and career development. My goal is to help students recognize their strengths, set meaningful goals, and develop strategies for success.

GRADUATE, POSTGRADUATE AND ADVISING 

Graduate education requires a balance of scholarly inquiry, professional practice, and independent learning. As an advisor and mentor, I support graduate students in developing advanced knowledge, conducting meaningful research, and applying theory to real-world challenges.

My advising approach emphasizes critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and scholarly rigor. I encourage students to engage deeply with contemporary issues, evaluate multiple perspectives, and contribute original ideas to their fields of study. Through regular consultation, constructive feedback, and collaborative problem-solving, I assist students in refining research questions, developing methodologies, and achieving academic milestones.

Drawing upon my experience in digital media, design, instructional technology, and multimedia production, I help graduate students bridge the gap between academic scholarship and professional practice. I also support students in identifying employment pathways and preparing for career opportunities that align with their skills and goals, including portfolio development, networking strategies, and industry engagement.

Equally important, I encourage students to recognize their responsibility within the academic and professional community. I remind them that their growth includes not only personal achievement but also contributing back to their field by mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and “paying it forward” as future educators, practitioners, and leaders.
